Friday, May 1 / 8PM
Colony Theater / 1040 Lincoln Road
The man who brought us Hairspray, Pink Flamingos, and made Divine a cult-icon will take to the stage of the Lincoln Theater on South Beach for one-night only, in his first South Florida stage appearance in over a decade! John Waters‘ one-man show is a “vaudeville” act that celebrates the film career and obsessive tastes of the man William Burroughs once called “The Pope of Trash.” Focusing in on Waters’ early negative artistic influences and his fascination with true crime, exploitation films, fashion lunacy, and the extremes of the contemporary art world, this joyously devious monologue elevates all that is trashy in life into a call to arms to “filth followers” everywhere.
Everyone is invited to the after-party at the Shore Club but VIP Ticket holders will get a chance to meet John Waters, enjoy complimentary vodka cocktails and sit in the best seats in the theater.

Happy Birthday Jimbo!
Jimbo’s 82nd Birthday Party will be Sunday, April 19, 2009
Bring a birthday card and a good cigar for Jimbo, bring something to eat, something to drink, bring a friend. Come celebrate life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness on Virginia Key.
*NOTE: I made the annual pilgrimage with friend Melissa – and after waiting for nearly 2 hours in traffic, crawling along the Rickenbacker/95 – and within a 10-car length of the Front Gate/Booth – they shut the park down! (4pm/overcrowded). Talk about a bummer, good thing everything was laid back with the round trip!
We went to Tobacco Road to rethink our “plan”, ate crawfish … and saw Chrystal!
Then we made another attack, a hour or so later, with friends on the inside at Jimbo’s calling us and telling us they “were in”. Nope – once again the gates were closed and blue lights were on!
So I went to Monty’s (33139) and watched the sunset with some nice folk and enjoyed a good laugh …
