Central Station – Glasgow, Scotland / June 2010

… Even though it rained the whole day.

Here’s a couple of images from the next town over, east of Limekilns – Charlestown.

Was in South Queens Ferry (Robert Louis Stevenson – Kidnapped) on Saturday, getting the ferry to Inchcolm, when I decided to venture out during low tide. One of my new favorite panoramics …

So it was my first time out on the water (Firth of Forth) in Scotland, starting with a ferry ride to Inchcolm Abbey where I had the best half hour nap in my life, then proceeded to get dumped on by, not one, but two seagulls (and no, it didn’t bring “good luck” – yet) …

So while waiting for the bus a couple of days ago, to go to Edinburgh (pronounced: Edin-burrah), I saw this little sign of hope on a rainy day …

happy_thought_limekilns

One of my dilemmas tonight is Kenny Rodgers or The Proclaimers … I think I’ll keep it local and see the Scots at The Alhambra. Sold out too, but thanks to a few “mates” down at the pub, I got a ticket!

Saw this beautiful sign in front of a pub on the Royal Mile, that leads up to Edinburgh Castle

And, believe it or not, these are slowly becoming extinct …

phonebox_limekilns2010

… a local town newsletter publishes how many calls are received and made each year from this particular one. (under a two hundred total?)
