So I worked the Scorpions show at Bayfront Park. Seems like everyone (really huge crowd) had a blast, including me in a tacky 80’s way, here I am before the show …

Then the Scorpons took the stage, on a perfect night …

complete with 10+ minute Drum solo on a hydraulic lift, harmonizing guitar solos, pick-flicking/drumstick-throwing and the highlight for me was when Matthias Jabs (gtr) asked the audience …

… to make some “party noise” (?) in his german accent!

Friday, Jul 16 – Doors 7pm - Bayfront Park / Downtown Miami

In a really weird way I’m looking forward to this … I just hope that the weather cooperates tomorrow. I’ll be renting chairs for the lawn area … come on down, step back in time and … throw some horns! c’mon: Rockin’ Germans, Loud Amps & (if you’re lucky) and some good mullet spotting! *Bring an extra lighter for this one. Ratt is opening!

Pat Metheny played at the Jackie Gleason last night …

I was blown away – not only is he a “guitar great”, but he’s was touring with his very own “Orchestrion” …

an analogue instrument “orchestra” controlled/triggered (and looped!) from his guitar,.

The funny part of the show was when Pat tried to explain what was going on …  he got the feeling it was way over the audiences head. (yep)

… he decided it was better to play the guitar and let the music do the talking - everyone was in awe.
